Areas of Care
A range of support services is provided at Rusthall Lodge to meet the individual needs of residents, from residential care to quality nursing and respite care.
General health care. We work closely with local hospitals, GP and pharmacy services and Social Services to make sure that the medical and welfare needs of each resident are met safely and promptly. GP support and foot health care services are in place and we arrange other therapeutic and medical services, such as eye and hearing tests and podiatry, as needed. Private physiotherapy can be arranged upon request. Prices for this service are separate from our fees.
Nursing and health care. We have experienced Registered General Nurses on each of our two floors working alongside our Health Care Assistants who will have, or will be actively working towards, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care. Our General Manager and Nursing Manager are also qualified RGNs.
As well as being a nurse, the General Manager holds NVQ Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management.
Planning care. Throughout we involve the resident and their family in preparing each individual resident’s care plan, from when they arrive to managing any changes in need.
Respite care. Anyone coming into Rusthall Lodge for a short respite stay is made very welcome and encouraged to join in with activities, if they wish, and socialise with other residents.
Keeping active. Our social and activities diary is geared towards providing a variety of choice for our residents and helping them to stay mentally and physically active and as independent as possible. If a resident is unable to leave their room, we promote a one-to-one activity provision service.
Activity is essential for health and wellbeing. It has potential to restore, maintain and improve physical and mental health. Rusthall Lodge is also a member of NAPA (National Association of Providers of Activities for Older People).
Enjoying meal times. Our chef and kitchen staff team are able to respond to individual and special dietary needs and provide a varied, healthy and evolving menu which our residents help us to choose. We firmly believe in home cooking, serving meals the residents have chosen from a menu selection of family favourites.
